HEERF 18004(a)(1) Emergency Grants to Students

1)An acknowledgement that the institution signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used the applicable amount of funds designated under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

Cochran School of Nursing received the grant award notification HEERF (a)(1) Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students on May of 2021. In keeping with the terms of the certification agreement, Cochran plans on awarding 100% of the funds from Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

2) The total amount of funds that the institution will receive or has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs.

Cochran School of Nursing was awarded $153,332 under Section 18004 (a)(1) of HEEF Aid Grants to students.

3) The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs as of the date of submission (i.e., as of the initial report and every calendar quarter thereafter).

Grant application opened for students on September 15, 2021. No funds have been distributed as of September 30, 2021.

4) The estimated total number of students at the institution that are eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs.

As of September 30, 2021, Cochran School of Nursing has 100 enrolled students. The school estimates that 80-90% of the students will be eligible for funding.

5) The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs.

Cochran School of Nursing has awarded 104 students financial assistance over the past year, between the many Emergency Aid Grants to students.

6) The method(s) used by the institution to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs.

These funds will be designed to prioritize students with the greatest demonstrated financial need demonstrated through the application, documentation, Pell recipient status, EFC, etc.

7) Any instructions, directions, or guidance provided by the institution to students concerning the Emergency Financial Aid Grants.

The deadline to apply for the grant is October 29,2021. Students are to retrieve their application though the student portal, under the Financials. Students have to acknowledge they will use funding will be used for components of their cost of attendance or emergency costs that arose due to coronavirus.
