Overview

For nursing students this an Associate Degree in Applied Science program designed to be completed in 2 years (4 semesters).

Day Program
Designed for a full time student who is expected to manage a full course of study. Generally theory classes are held 2 day per week, 4-5 hours each. Clinical practice experiences are 2 days per week, generally held between the hours of 7:00A.M. and 4:00P.M.

Evening Program
Designed for those students who prefer or have need for a program of evening studies. Theory classes are generally 2 days a week, beginning at 5:30P.M. and ending by 11:00 P.M. Clinical practice hours are 5:30 P.M. – 11:30 P.M., two days a week, with some daytime and weekend hours as needed.

The Cochran Graduate:

1. Practices in accordance with the standards of practice within legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks.

2. Communicates effectively with patients, significant others, and members of the health care team.

3. Utilizes the Evidence Based nursing process to provide patient-centered nursing care for a diverse population of patients in a variety of settings.

4. Provides health education to promote informed decision making, positive outcomes, and selfcare activities. 

5. Provides quality care to individuals and families as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team.

6. Effectively uses human, physical, financial, and technological resources in the delivery of care.

7. Recognizes potential threats to patient safety and appropriately intervenes.

1. Forty five (45%) will complete the program in one hundred (100%) of the time. 

2. 80% of graduates will pass the NCLEX on the first attempt.

3. Eighty percent (80%) of our graduates seeking employment in nursing will be employed one year after receiving their RN Licensure.

4. Ninety percent (90%) of our graduates who complete our surveys will report that the program prepared them to achieve the End of Program Student Learning Outcomes.

NCLEX-RN pass rates will be at or above the national mean (average).
