ADMISSIONS PROCESS

At the Cochran School of Nursing, we strive to bring forth the best in our field. We have been educating future nurses for 130 years. Here you will gain the knowledge and skills to help you advance into the exciting profession of nursing. Cochran offers experienced faculty, day and evening classes, a highly skilled simulation lab, support services, and guaranteed clinical placement. Our high number of clinical hours will prepare you for entry into practice as a Registered Nurse. Two years is a short time to commit to advancing your education and developing into your role as a nurse.

Application Submission

  1. Please submit an online application. There is a $50.00 non-refundable application fee. Please mail your official transcripts:

2. Send all official high school and college transcripts along with proof of registration for completing outstanding pre-requisites to the Admissions Office. Applicant with foreign transcripts must provide Cochran with an unofficial copy of their original foreign transcript and have the transcript evaluated by World Education Services or Global Language Services and sent to Cochran as their official transcript.
(*Official transcripts of all secondary and post secondary education are required.)

3. Following receipt of the application, transcripts, fee and either Kaplan or TEAS scores (This will be arranged by appointment only), applicant files will be reviewed by committee and an admission decision rendered. 

The applicant must obtain health clearance and comply with all health program and physical requirements.

The Cochran School of Nursing provides reasonable accommodation for all students whose documented disabilities would otherwise place them at an unfair advantage in the completion of the nursing program. Applicants needing reasonable accommodation must provide the necessary and properly signed documentation at the time of admission or prior to taking the entrance exam. The applicant will be advised to contact the Disability Officer and follow the Disability procedure.

POST ACCEPTANCE:
  • Upon acceptance to the program, a non-refundable admission deposit of $500 is required.  This deposit is applied to the first tuition payment.

  • Current certification in American Heart BLS for Health Care Provider Course is required of all incoming students and must be maintained throughout the student’s tenure at Cochran.

  • Citizens and/or Legal Residents of United States.
