In order for the library staff to identify its patrons and track materials that are circulated from the library collection, we ask all patrons to complete a library membership form. Membership forms for Cochran students, faculty, and SJRH staff are available at the medical library.
Library books may be borrowed for an initial period of three weeks. They can then be renewed every three weeks unless another patron has placed a reserve on that item, then they should be returned to the library. The number of renewals is limited to a maximum of 4 times. Renewals remain the patron’s responsibility and are allowed in person, by telephone or by logging into the online catalog. Reference books, *DVDs, and journals, cannot be checked out of the library.
Items that are currently out on loan may be placed on reserve by using the online catalog or by contacting the library staff. When the items that have been placed on reserve are returned to the library, the requesting patron will be contacted. Reserved items will be held at the reference desk for one week. If reserves are not retrieved within that time, they will go to the next patron on the reserve list.
